Group 1

Student will learn that letters ar will stand for the /ar/ sound at the beginning, middle and end of a word. 

Read the story Bean Reaches For The Sun in Write in Reader and answer the questions.
Discuss the steps in making a garden.We will discuss what happens when a character  named Toad plants some seeds to make a garden. Read the story The Garden and answer the essential question, what grows in a garden.

Group 2

Students will learn that the letters oo, ew, ue and ou can stand for the /oo/in boot.students will practice to segment sounds in words.

Discuss the vocabulary words and their meanings. Discuss how living things can change when they grow citing the example of humans.We will read the fantasy The Mysterious Tadpole and discuss the essential question how animals change when they grow while we read.

Group 3

Students will learn that adding suffixes to the end of a base word can change the meaning of the base words.And that the sounds of the base words stay the same even if letters are dropped of changed

Discuss that mountains are high elevated forms of land and are found all over the world and people like to do adventures like  climbing up a mountain range. We will read the informational text Mountains Surviving On Mount Everest. We will use the details in the text like the graphic features to make inferences and predictions.

We will learn that an analogy is a kind of comparison in which one pair of words is compared  to another.and each pair relates by definition, meaning or characteristics.complete worksheets.
