Group 1
Spelling words:if, is, him,his, fin, hit.
High frequency words:for, he, what, look, have, too
Student will practice to blend  words with short i and consonants r, h and /z/ s
Student will read and answer the questions for the story Pip Can Help in the Write-in Reader 
Read the informational text The Storm and understand the characters.
Practice words with short /i/ sound.

Group 2

Spelling words:spoke, mile, save, excuse, cone, invite, cube,five, alone,close Bonus:basement,complete
Vocabulary: trial, jury, convince, guilty, pointed, honest, murmur, stand

Review the sounds of long vowels.Students will learn that a word that follows the VCe( vowel consonant e ) pattern, the first vowel has a long vowel sound and the e is silent.Model and practice VCe pattern words.Review the meaning of vocabulary words.
Students will read the story The Trail of John Peter Zenger in Write in Reader and answer the comprehension questions.

Student will practice to blend sounds in words. Learn to identify the beginning, middle and end sounds. Student will read What is A Pal and discuss the things can pals do together.Learn that nouns can name person, place or things. 
Practice words with short /a/ sound.

Group 2

Vocabulary: principal, soared, strolled, worried, proud, announced, fine, certainly

Review the sounds of short vowels and their sounds.Identify the subject and predicate in a simple sentence. Practice VCCV pattern.
Read the informational text One room School House and compare how schools in olden days are same and different than now.
