Practice spelling and vocabulary words.
students will learn that a compound word is made when two short words are put together to make a new, longer word.
Read Fire Safety day and answer the questions in the Write In Reader.
Practice making compound words.
Discuss the topic personal safety and read the humorous fiction Officer Buckle and Gloria. We will discuss the essential question why is it important to follow safety rules wile we read.

Read the story Swedish Meatball Pot stickers in write in Reader and answer the questions. Read the humorous fiction The Extra Good Sunday and discuss the characters and how illustration helps with the better understanding of the story events.
Review kinds of pronouns.
