Group 1

Student will practice to blend  words with short u. 
Read the Story Sal and answer the questions
Review adjectives.
Read the fantasy story Gus takes The Train.While we read we discuss what happens to the character in a train.
Learn about adjectives that describe color..
Group 2
Spelling words:dress, spell, class, stuck, kick, rock, full, add, neck, trick
Vocabulary words:blooming, shovels, scent, tough, wrinkled, plain, muscles, nodded
Model and practice  double consonant words and words with -ck endings.
Read the Story Rosa's garden and complete the answers.. 
Review Proper nouns as nouns that name special people and places and that all proper nouns begins with capital letters.
Read the Realistic Fiction  The Ugly Vegetables and analyze the text by  discussing the characters, setting and plot in the story.

Students will learn to spell and practice words with long i sounds that ie has a long i sound and the e is silent.
Review spelling and vocabulary words and their  meanings.
Read the story Let's Play Ball and answer the questions in Write -in-Reader.
Students will learn that a biography is about the events in a person's life and the events are in order. We will take turns to read the Biography Roberto Clemente and discuss why he is famous.
Review singular and plural nouns.
