Student will practice to blend  words with short i and consonants r, h and /z/ s
Student will read and answer the questions for the story Pip Can Help in the Write-in Reader 
Read the informational text The Storm and understand the characters.
Practice words with short /i/ sound.

Group 2

Vocabulary: trial, jury, convince, guilty, pointed, honest, murmur, stand

Review the sounds of long vowels.Students will learn that a word that follows the VCe( vowel consonant e ) pattern, the first vowel has a long vowel sound and the e is silent.Model and practice VCe pattern words.Review the meaning of vocabulary words.
Students will read the story The Trail of John Peter Zenger in Write in Reader and answer the comprehension questions.

Students will learn that the letters ar together stand for the sound /r/ and can be at the beginning, middle or end of a word.We will discuss about the different types of sign that we see and how they keep us safe. Then Students will take turns to read the humorous fiction The Signmaker's Assistant. We will discuss the characters in the story and how the illustrations help us to understand them. Students will practice using commas in dates and places.
Math
 We will continue learning about measurement units such as inches and feet. We will also learn about the appropriate tools for measuring different lengths and also about line plots.We will take a chapter review test. We will start a new chapter on geometric shapes and their attributes.

Math
This week we will start a new chapter on Measurement. Students will learn that objects can be measured and will compare line segments drawn on the board using the vocabulary terms shorter and shortest.Students will make their own ruler using color tiles and measure objects like, pencils, markers, crayons in the class.As they use colors to shade each inch, they visualize the length of an inch.

This week we will student will learn to subtract three digit numbers. Students will practice using the place value mat for 3 digit subtraction. We will review place value and find to see if we have enough ones and tens to subtract from..We will practice using cubes and work mat and work sheets.

Math:
This week we will continue to practice using the  standard algorithm for 2 digit subtraction. children will practice to look at ones place number fist and think if we have enough ones to take away from?. Students will be taught to borrow 1 ten from the number at the tens place and then subtract the ones column numbers to find the difference. Students will use the subtraction poem to to practice borrowing tens and find the difference.We will practice using cubes and work mat and work sheets.

Review forming regular and irregular plural nouns.We will revisit  the Humorous fiction Click ,Clack, Moo: Cows That Type and answer the questions on the student practice page.We will practice writing a persuasive letter.Students will learn to determine the meaning of a new word with prefix pre- and mis-.Students will read the leveled reader Zoo party and draw conclusions about what happens  in the story

Math:
This week we will continue to practice  to tell and write time to the minutes  Students will use the position of the hour and minute hand to tell time on an analog clock.Students will describe time using A.M.which means before noon  and P.M. means after noon. Learn that these are two of each time in a single day. Discuss activities that happens in the A.M. and P.M.
